ANPS Spring Meeting

4-1-2020 Message from the ANPS Board: Given the current situation with COVID-19 we have canceled the ANPS Spring Meeting scheduled for May 15-17, 2020 in Northwest Arkansas. While we will miss the gathering together of botany minded people across the state, we do not feel it is worth the risk. We hope we will be able to hold the Fall Meeting in Stuttgart this September!
All are welcome to attend! Meeting registration is just $10 with no pre-registration required. Registration will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 15.Meeting Location: Illinois River Watershed Partnership 221 South Main Street Cave Springs, Exit 78 off 1-49 then west on AR-264 W to South Main Street in Cave Springs. Turn north on S Main Street/Hwy 112 and the IRWP building is 0.2 miles on the left. Parking: Several parking spots are available in front of and behind the building. ADA accessible parking is in front of the building. See map for details.Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn, (479) 464-7300, 2204 SE Walton Boulevard, Exit 85 off I-49 then west on AR-12 W/US-71Bus N. Destination is 0.3 miles on left. Look for ANPS Sign.10 rooms reserved: 5 standard king beds and 5 standard queens. More kings/queens if available. $94/night. Rooms must be reserved by May 1 to get the ANPS meeting rate of $94/night.Dining Options: We will have a Potluck meal on Friday and Saturday evenings. Bring a dish or just come and join us and eat. There are many food options near the hotel including Subway, Denny’s, Lin’s Garden Chinese Restaurant, and Shogun Steak and Sushi.Field Trips:Friday Trips to Compton Gardens and Crystal Bridges 9 AM – 11 AM Meet at the main entrance to Crystal Bridges. 1 PM- 4 PM meet at the main entrance of Compton Gardens. RSVP to Austin Klais or Eric Fuselier (contact info below).Meet at the main entrance of Compton Gardens (312 North Main Street Bentonville) at 9:00 a.m.Saturday, 8 AM – 5 PM, and Sunday, 8 AM to 12 PM. You must sign up for the field trips on Friday evening to allow for planning by field trip leaders. Trips will include spots such as the Wilson Springs Preserve, Chesney Prairie, Lake Atalanta, Mount Kessler, and more!
